Donations and Sadaqa
Dear brothers and sisters: As-salaam Alaikuum (Peace be unto you)
The likeness of those who spend their wealth in
Allah's way is as the likeness of a grain which groweth seven ears, in every
ear a hundred grains. Allah giveth increase manifold to whom He will. Allah is
All Embracing, All Knowing. (2:261)
But that which ye lay out
for charity, seeking the Countenance of Allah, (will increase): it is these who
will get a recompense multiplied. (30:39)
And [thus] lend unto God a
goodly loan: for whatever good deed you may offer up in your own behalf, you
shall truly find it with God - yea, better, and richer in reward. And [always]
seek God's forgiveness: behold, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace! (73:20)
Whatever we spend on ourselves here and now are only for our temporary sustenance while whatever we give in the way of Allah is an eternal investment that provided everlasting sustenance. The Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah upon him) encouraged this aspect of Islaam. He said:
"A generous person is close to Allah, close to Paradise, close to people, and far from Hell. However, a miserly person is far from Allah, far from Paradise, far from people but close to Hell. Allah loves more an ignorant man who is generous that a worshiper who is miserly." (Tirmidhee)
He also said:
"If I had a mountain of gold, I would not like to save any of it for more that three days, except something I put aside to pay my debts" (Bukharee)
your donation is very mush
appreciated, May Allah accept all your good deeds…Ameen
“Save yourself from the (Hell) Fire even with half a
date (to be given in charity). And if you do not find, then with a good
pleasant word.” – Collected by Al-Bukhari
